Women in Games Italy attended the Women In Gaming: The Next Generation conference
On Tuesday, November 20th, the English Embassy in Rome and the UK Science & Innovation Network, with the help from Women&Tech and Women in Games Italy, organized the Women in Gaming: The Next Generation conference. The event, introduced by the English Ambassador in Italy Jill Morris and Gianna Martinengo -Women & Technologies Founder-, addressed the issue of diversity and inclusion in the gaming industry -and in the technology industry in general, as well- with two panels: “Education and skills: the next generation” and “The Future of the game industry”.
“Facts are showing us that diversity is an innovation source.“, said the English Ambassador Jill Morris during her introduction speech. “And in an industry like the gaming one, that complements coding with music, art,narration and animation, this diversity is the key for future success“.
The conference, modered by the Women in Games Italy Founder Micaela Romanini, featured as speakers Marie-Claire Isaaman, Women in Games WIGJ CEO; Sharon Tolaini-Sage, Games & Art Design lecturer for Norwich University of the Arts; Angela Paoletti, Local Transit CEO and Kate Edwards, CEO and Principal Consultant for Geogrify LLC; Elisa Di Lorenzo, Untold Games Co-Founder; Ivan Venturi, CEO of IV Productions; Sean Taylor, Director of InGAME – Innovations for Games and Media Enterprises and Ruth Falconer, Head of the School of Design and Informatics Division at Abertay University.
